Head Cold- Symptoms and Causes
Colds basically refers to respiratory infections that is caused by viruses. Head colds & chest cold differs with the location of symptoms. Head cold or common cold the very primarily symptoms is in the head, headaches, stuffed nose; whereas chest cold is in the chest, coughing & congestion.
Symptoms of Head Cold-
Symptoms for common cold or head cold appears within 2-3 days after exposure to cold causing virus. It consists of:
1. Headaches
2. Fatigue
3. Blocked nose
4. Runny nose
5. Slight body-aches
6. Sneezes
7. Mild fever
Causes-
Common cold is contagious and can pass from one person to another very easily. The main cause for it is the virus, it can be present anywhere, the areas contaminated with the germs, door knobs, while shaking hands, touching nose or eyes, touching phones. It is usually harmless and takes around a week or 10-15 days to recover.
Over 200 different viruses are for head colds but the most common among them is the 'rhinoviruses'.
See a Doctor-
Normal cold, sneeze recovers within 7 to 10 days, then it is not a matter to visit a doctor. But if the symptoms persist for more then a week or so, visit a doctor for clear advise and cure.
Risk Factors-
Some factors that increases the chances of getting common cold or head colds:
1. People with weak immune system are more prone to get sick with the cold.
2. Child with age around 6 or below have developing immune system, thus their immunity is weak. Hence are more easy to get infected.
3. Weather, winters increases the chances of cold because of the environment conditions.
4. Anyone can catch cold in the contaminated areas with germs, in contact with the infected individual.
Washing hands regularly can prevent cold/flu virus. Everyone should carry a Hand Sanitizer to keep your hand's germs free. To cure colds/flu, you can take proper hydration by drinking plenty of water and other fluids. If possible take an IV vitamin drip to cure Cold or Flu.
